About Mamoru

Overview

Mamoru is an index catalog for video games running natively on Android via community reverse engineering, decompilations, binary recompilations, and source ports. Rather than running through emulators, these projects execute directly on ARM hardware as standalone applications.

Port methods
  • Decompilation: The original game logic is reconstructed from scratch into readable C or C++ source code, then compiled directly for Android.
  • Static Recompilation: The original machine code binary is translated ahead-of-time into native ARM instructions, running directly on modern mobile GPUs.
  • Source Port: An open-source game engine adapted and built to run natively on mobile operating systems.
  • Engine Wrapper: A dedicated launcher or wrapper runtime built to host game assets on Android.
Required game files

Port projects supply the executable and engine binaries. Unless marked as standalone, games require the original assets (such as ROM files, PC data folders, or Steam game directories) placed on device storage.

Playability status

Status ratings on game pages are computed directly from community hardware observations:

  • Verified playable out of the box: Reaches gameplay with no crashes, no major visual glitches, and works without extra setup.
  • Playable with setup: Runs well, but requires specific file placement, config tweaks, or custom GPU drivers such as Turnip.
  • Playable with quirks: Playable in game, but users observe occasional crashes or minor visual/audio glitches.
  • Menu only / Crashes on launch: Does not yet progress into stable in-game play.
